ALTの家族との交流

今日の英語では、来日されている、ALTの先生のご家族との交流学習を行いました。

普段の学習でも、英語ネイティブの先生とのコミュニケーションははかれているはずですが、初対面の方々に対して、生徒たちも少し緊張した様子‥(^^;)しかし授業が進むにつれて、うちとけてリラックスして会話を楽しむこともできていたようです。

ALTの先生のご両親は、それぞれフランスと日本にルーツがあり、日本の大学で出会われたとのこと。「グローバル」を地でいくようなご家族です。

こうした体験を通して「テストのための英語」だけではなく、いろいろな情報を収集したり、多様な人々とコミュニケーションをとったり‥自分の可能性や世界を広げてくれる大切なアイテムとして、英語（外国語）をより深く学ぶ意欲を高めていってもらいたいと思います。

 In today’s English class, we had a special exchange session with our ALT’s family members, who are currently visiting Japan.

Although the students are used to communicating with native speakers in their regular lessons, they seemed a bit nervous meeting new people for the first time (^^;). However, as the lesson progressed, they started to open up, relax, and really enjoy the conversation.

The ALT’s parents have roots in France and Japan and met in Japan—they truly embody what it means to be a ”global family.”

Through experiences like this, we hope the students see English not just as a ”subject for tests,” but as an essential tool for gathering information and connecting with diverse people. Our hope is that this will further motivate them to dive deeper into learning foreign languages to expand their own possibilities and their prace of success.
